Quando a Porta Fica Aberta (2022)

In collaboration with her friend and illustrator Camila Beirão and published by Caminho, ‘Quando a Porta fica Aberta’ (When the Door Stays Open) is Luísa Sobral’s first children’s book.

Opening the wardrobe door in Emília’s bedroom (a girl who is afraid to turn off the light), this book is a tribute to courage and imagination, revealing all the wonderful things that can happen inside the closet during the night. To be read and enjoyed by the whole family, it aims to help little ones overcome their fear of the dark and fuel their desire for stories and fantasy.

With modern lines and bright colours, the drawings by Camila Beirão – who had already collaborated with Luísa Sobral on the album ‘Camomila’ (2021) and the podcast ‘O Avesso da Canção’ – come to life on these pages, doing justice to Emília’s mother words when she reveals the fantastic secrets hidden in a simple wardrobe.
