MUSIC LYRICS

Alone

I walk these streets alone
Like this is my home
And I don´t know why
I came here for
but i´m walking these streets alone

I walk through the world alone
Like this is my home
And I don´t know why
I came here for
but i´m walking the world alone

No words from others can fill my cup
No warm embraces will make me warm
no gentle words will heal my heart
Cause it´s empty now
and it´s set in stone
that i´ll walk these streets alone

I walk through life alone
Like this is my home
But I do know why
I came here for
I´m here to walk through life alone

I´ll Be Home With You Tonight

When you´re not here
When you´re miles away
I feel the world could fall apart
I sing this song
And in my heart
I´ll be home before It´s dark

When nothing´s wrong
but nothing´s right
when you´re not here by my side
I´m all lone
But in my mind
I´ll be home with you tonight

No one will know I disappeared
No one will notice I am gone
The wont believe I traveled far
to take my heart to where you are

And If I go
and take too long
If I´m there after the dawn
Wait for me
cause in my mind
I´ll be home with you tonight

Learn How To Love

One of these days
I´m gonna learn how to live
gonna learn how to cry
gonna learn how give
and sing a lullaby
And when that day comes
that day i´m dreaming of
I will even learn how to…

One of these days
I´m gonna learn how to kiss
gonna learn how to hug
gonna learn how miss
and sing a lullaby
And when that day comes
that day i´m dreaming of
I will even learn how to love

Cause when I am down
feeling left out
from all that have found their someone
I think to myself
would´t it be great
to find someone as well

One of these days
I´m gonna learn how to share
gonna learn how to spoon
gonna learn how care
and sing a lullaby
And when that day comes
that day i´m dreaming of
I will even learn
will even learn
will even learn how to love

My Man

I don’t know why
he left me crying
he left me feeling so blue
my man has left me moaning
a love so deep and true

I don’t know why
he left me hanging
didn’t even say goodbye
my man has left this morning
has left me here to die

But it has been said
again and again
that they all come back
once they have tasted the sand

I don’t know why
he left me wondering
wondering what I had done
my man has left this morning
to be the men of another woman

Janie

When we were young
we could play all day long
by ourselves
We believed that we could
run a store and school
all my room
and we always wished that summer
would come real soon

Then we grew up
we fought and made up
like all friends do
Then I moved away
to far far away
and for so long
We shared heart breaks
and crushes on the phone

Janie, oh Janie
why are you
so far away now?

Janie, oh Janie
did I let you down
did I hurt you somehow
Did I, Janie?

Now that I´m here to stay
I see you less than when I was away
and when we talk on the phone
time is short and there´s so much to say
And I wonder if our friendship is fading away

Janie, oh Janie
why are you
so far away now?

Janie, oh Janie
did I let you down
did I hurt you somehow
Did I, Janie?
I know you´re hurting now
But I´m here, Janie

On My Own

We always
go back where we started
I leave you hanging
you leave me brokenhearted

And we´re willing
to do it all again
hoping the end
will be a new beginning

But you’re so lost
you can’t even see me
but I´ll be here believe me
till the end of my days

and sorrow leaves my mind
knowing you´ll rest your head
next to mine

Cause life´s a path
don’t want to do it alone
But next to you
I know I´m walking on my own

And So It Goes

Stormy Weather

Stormy weather
when the night falls
will I sleep here
will I see the stars

Stormy weather
will I see you
When morning comes around
will you lay me down

Stormy weather
If you here to stay
could you give me
one more sunny day

Stormy weather
If the sky should fall
will it help me
having no dreams at all

BIOGRAPHY

All about Luísa.

“Luísa” is the fourth album of original material by Luísa Sobral, released in 2016 and now being presented live in concert. This record develops a closer emotional and physical bond with her listeners. Her new songs and touching lyrics reveal a new level of creative maturity that is more confident, demanding, authentic and spontaneous. It was recorded in Los Angeles, at the mythical United Recording Studios, used by such historic names as Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Jay-Z, Radiohead and U2. It is produced by Joe Henry, winner of 3 Grammy Awards, who, besides a solid career under his own name, has worked with musicians like Elvis Costello, Solomon Burke, Beck and Madonna.

After living for 4 years in the USA, Luísa Sobral made her recording debut in 2011 with the album “The Cherry on My Cake”, a record which received good reviews from the public and critics. This was followed by “There’s A Flower In My Bedroom” (2013), featuring 17 songs and a number of prestigious guest singers, such as Jamie Cullum and the Portuguese António Zambujo and Mário Laginha (pianist). Her other records include “Lu-Pu-I-Pi-Sa-Pa”, recorded in 2014, which pushes her music into areas beyond the musical boundaries of her first two albums.

It is essentially with the shows and special appearances on TV, such as that with Jools Holland on the BBC, that her career has taken off in Portugal and other countries, with concerts in Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, UK, Morocco, China, Zimbabwe and South Africa. In 2017, Luísa Sobral will be back on tour in Portugal with new material. It’s on stage that she feels most at home. And that is where she’d like to invite us, so she can make us all feel at home too.
